The tour begins in Istanbul, where you will visit such places as The Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and the Grand Baazar. You will continue onto Ankara, where you will get to experience the capital city of Turkey before you make your way to Cappadocia. Cappadocia is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its many natural wonders.

Day 1
Arrival to Istanbul

Upon arrival at Istanbul Ataturk airport you will be meet by our local representative and transferred to your hotel

Relax and enjoy the evening in one of the worlds most fascinating cities.

Day 2

Ancient treasures of Istanbul (B)

After breakfast you are going to be taken to some of the most wonderful ancient monuments of Istanbul on our half day Istanbul City Tour:

  • Visit  the Hagia Sophia, the 6th century Byzantine basilica, the largest church of its era, and the architectural glory of the Byzantines.
  • Visit the Blue Mosque, a 17th century imperial mosque, famous for its six minarets, as well as its interior blue tiles.
  • Visit the Byzantine Hippodrome, now an open air exhibition park with a number of monuments, where chariot races once were held.
  • Visit the Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest covered market with more than 4,000 shops, and multitude of alleys.

Day 3

Istanbul (B)

Free at leisure or optional add on a full day tour of the Asian side of Istanbul and Bosphorus cruise including lunch. (Extra cost – please ask your travel consultant today)

Day 4

After Breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Ankara.
Ankara is the capital city of the Republic of Turkey and, you are going to have the opportunity to learn a bit more about this wonderful city.

You will visit the Hittite Museum of the Anatolian Civilizations and The Mausoleum of Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.

After this tour you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before you depart for Cappadocia, about 300km from Ankara. On the way, there is a stopover to see Lake Tuz, the second largest lake in Turkey and one of the largest hyper saline lakes in the world.

Enjoy a lovely dinner upon check in at your Cappadocia hotel and prepare for another great day ahead

Day 5

The valleys of Cappadocia (B,L,D)

After having breakfast at the hotel, you are going to embark in a full day tour, including lunch, through beautiful Cappadocia.

  • Visit the Valley of Uchisar, with spectacular views of the natural cliffs.
  • Visit the Goreme Valley, filled with cave-churches decorated with frescoes.
  • Visit the Pasabag Valley, where highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen.
  • Visit Kaymakli, or Derinkuyu, one of the most famous underground cities in the world.
  • Visit to a local business to see the production of antique and modern Turkish carpets and handicrafts.

Finish the day with a relaxing dinner at your Hotel.

Day 6

Cappadocia – Istanbul (B)

It’s time to start another day with a splendid breakfast before you are transferred to the airport to catch your short flight back to Istanbul, where everything started.

Day 7

Istanbul (B)

It’s almost over, but you still have one free day in Istanbul. After breakfast, take the opportunity to visit again your favourite attractions or to discover hidden treasures of the city.

Day 8

Departure (B)

Free at leisure until transfer to Istanbul Ataturk airport for your return flight home.

Visa: A visa is required to enter into turkey prior to travel. This is not included in the price but can be easily purchased online at at a charge of $20. Orient Travel can complete the form on your behalf, an administration fee of €15 applies per person.

Best time to Travel: Spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) are the best times to visit, since the climate will be perfect for sightseeing in İstanbul and on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts
