Day 1

Arrive in Phnom Penh

CAM-Royal-PalaceOn arrival in Phnom Penh, you will be welcomed by your English speaking guide and then transferred to the hotel for check in. Later, visit the Cambodian capital  in a “Cyclo”, discover the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum and  the Wat Phnom temple.

Day 2

Phnom Penh – Siem Reap (B)

Flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, be greeted by your local English speaking guide, check-in your hotel, then in the afternoon visit the ancient city of Angkor. Admire the South Gate, the Bayon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants, and much more.

Day 3

Siem Reap – Tour (B)

Continue your visit of the incredible city of Angkor, this time exploring the temples of the Small Circuit aboard a ” Cambodian remork”. Have several stops during your tour, including at the Ta Prohm temple, the Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang. In the afternoon, have a sightseeing tour of the famous Angkor Wat.

Day 4

Siem Reap – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Flight from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5

Ho Chi Minh City (B)

VN-HCMC_021Today have a  full day tour of Ho Chi Minh City tour. You will visit Cholon, the traditional medicine FITO Museum, the Ben Than Market, the War Remnants (or History Museum), the former Presidential Palace and much more.

Day 6

Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City (B,L)

Have a day-trip to the Mekong Delta and drive to the town of Cai Be. There, board your boat and cruise around the local floating market then to Dong Hoa Hiep Island where you can admire the daily life of the local villagers. Also visit a cottage factory and experience Mekong food specialties.

Day 7

Ho Chi Minh City – Danang – Hoi An (B)

Flight to the central port city of Danang and transfer to the charming town of Hoi An. Later in the day, have a walking tour of the ancient city center and visit the former’s merchant’s homes, the old Japanese Bridge and the colorful market.

Day 8

Hoi An – Hue (B)

Drive from Hoi An to Hue, with a stopover in Danang to visit the Cham Museum. In Hue, discover the Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue.

Day 9

Hue – Hanoi (B)

Visit the vibrant Dong Ba Market, have a “cyclo” tour through the Old City to Tinh Tam Lake and continue to former emperor Minh Mang’s tomb. Then, transfer to airport for your flight to Hanoi.

Day 10

 Hanoi – Halong Bay (B,L,D)

Drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay. Then, enjoy the cruise among this fantastic bay and admire the unique karst formations. Overnight aboard.

Day 11

Halong Bay – Hanoi (B)

After breakfast aboard, disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. There, visit the Ethnology Museum, the Old Quarter also know as the “36 streets”, have a walking tour through the Hang Be Market and around Hoan Kiem Lake. Finish the day with a traditional Water Puppet show.

Day 12

Hanoi – Departure (B)

Ho Chi Minh MausoleumStart your day with a visit of the Temple of Literature, then discover the One Pillar Pagoda, continue to the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and the former president house. Finally, visit the picturesque West Lake, the nearby Taoist temple of Quan Thanh, before you transfer to Hanoi No Bai Airport for your onward flight.

Currency: -Vietnamese Dong (VND) in Vietnam.
-Cambodian Riel (KHR) in Cambodia. US Dollar is also widely accepted in Cambodia.

Vaccinations: No compulsory. Please check with your GP.

Visa:  -VIETNAM. Required for Irish Nationals. You can obtain your visa at the embassy or online for a visa on arrival (air travel only). With online application, you will receive an electronic pre-approved visa letter which will allow tourists and business travellers to come to Vietnam and pick up the visa stamp at Vietnam airport, with a stay of up to three months. Cost of the visa $65.
-CAMBODIA. Required for Irish Nationals. You can obtain your visa directly on arrival. Cost of the visa $20.

Best time to Travel: When it comes to weather, it’s a tough call, as Vietnam’s climate is so diverse. For the best balance, we’d vote for the months of April, May or October. Cambodia can be visited at any time of the year.
